THINGS TO DO AFTER ROOTING PART-1
OK So you got inspired and rooted your phone and now thinking "What should I do with it ?" Well Here are some Things you can do after rooting your device.
If you haven't rooted yet and looking for a guide, visit HERE
There are multiple ways to achieve this, We will first go with the one where you don't need to install any other app.
Open your file browser, Go to setting and turn on ROOT BROWSER (I am using solid explorer. This option might be in another subsetting of your browser).
On clicking the Root, You will see a bunch of folders and files, which you never saw before.
In order to remove system apps, you need to enter system->app. If you couldn't find the app there, go to system->priv-app. Here you will find all the apps, that came preinstalled on your phone.
Just delete the folder/file of that particular app and you are done. You have to reboot your device inorder to see the changes.
You can also use some uninstaller apps to delete system apps
Any of the above apps will do the trick for you. All you need to do is give the root permission, when asked for.
To freeze system/user apps, you can download app Quarantine. This is the good one and it's free.
Open the app, give root permission, select the app you want to freeze and tap the lock icon on the top right. The app will disappear from the launcher and will never run until you want.
To change the DPI, go to Root file system (represented by /) /system and open build.prop (in an text editor) and look for ro.sf.lcd_density= . Change it to any other value, you can increase (if you want display size to be bigger) or decrease it and save it. Reboot your device and you are done.
Now let's take a look at Bootanimation. If you want to display something nice when your phone boots up, You have to replace the default bootanimation, that comes with your device. To do so, first download a bootanimation for your device. You can google it, just keep in mind that it's all about screen resolution so make sure you download the right one.
Rename the downloaded zip file to bootanimation.zip. Replace the default bootanimation.zip which lies in /system/media, with the one you downloaded. After replacing, you have to change the permission attribute of this file. So Long click the file and select permission (in solid explorer, select properties and than swipe for attributes tab ). In the permission tab, You will see three rows Owner, Group, Global and three columns R(Read), W(Write), X(Execute) as shown below.
To get it working, permission should be as above i.e. RW- R-- R-- (here '-' means not selected). Permissions are also given in numbers, To understand that just remember that R=4, W=2, X=1. So in the above case permission will be 644 i.e. (R+W, R, R).
After setting the permission click apply and reboot your device, There it is the new bootanimation.
First let's talk about alternatives. There is a very popular one and it's called Navigation PIE. The best thing about PIE is it's hidden and only shows up when you swipe from particular area of the screen.
You can install Pie from the play store but when you apply it, the navigation bar doesn't hide by itself. Let's see how to hide it manually.
Open build.prop (/system/build.prop) in editing mode. Go to the end of the file and add the following line qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 , save the file and reboot your device. Remember to install some alternative before hiding the nav bar or you will not be able to navigate. If you want to bring the navigation bar back, just remove the above line or replace '1' with '0'.
Another alternative to nav bar is Assistive touch. This is somewhat like MI POP (If you have use old Xiomi phones, you know). You can download it from the play store
This was about hiding the nav bar now let's see how to change icons and color of the nav bar. To do so I recommend you to download this app
They have a huge collection of nav bars and you can also use your own images, if you like. Just install the app, give root permission and select the navbar, you want. Reboot and enjoy.

1.) Remove System apps
Almost all the OEMs provide preinstalled apps on the phones they sell. Some of those are the ones which you use in your daily lives, but some just remains unopened. Although android gives you the option of disabling such apps, to restrict them from running in the background, but not all of them. So HOW to get rid of such apps which are consuming your battery and space and are not used frequently. There are multiple ways to achieve this, We will first go with the one where you don't need to install any other app.
Open your file browser, Go to setting and turn on ROOT BROWSER (I am using solid explorer. This option might be in another subsetting of your browser).
As you can see, Explorer shows the Root storage, which was inaccessible before.
2.) Freeze Apps
Removing an essential system app might get your device into bootloop (always booting). The problem is how will you know whether the app is essential or not. Well you don't, you have to experiment. Just delete those, which you know about. You can freeze rest of them. Freezing apps is a little safer than deleting them, They will not run in the background but will still be present on your device. To freeze system/user apps, you can download app Quarantine. This is the good one and it's free.
Open the app, give root permission, select the app you want to freeze and tap the lock icon on the top right. The app will disappear from the launcher and will never run until you want.
3.) Change DPI and Boot animation
Changing DPI will change the Display size of your device. This change will be throughout the system. You can see the change in the images below. To change the DPI, go to Root file system (represented by /) /system and open build.prop (in an text editor) and look for ro.sf.lcd_density= . Change it to any other value, you can increase (if you want display size to be bigger) or decrease it and save it. Reboot your device and you are done.

After setting the permission click apply and reboot your device, There it is the new bootanimation.
4.) Hide/Change Navigation Bar
So you have a problem with the navigation bar in your device. It looks so big and there is no option to hide it or make it smaller. Fortunately, you rooted your device and now there are many ways to deal with the navigation bar. For now I will just stick to hiding the bar and use alternatives.First let's talk about alternatives. There is a very popular one and it's called Navigation PIE. The best thing about PIE is it's hidden and only shows up when you swipe from particular area of the screen.
